Danzantez y comunidad todos bienvenidos a La Danza del Barrio de La Mision dedicated to las imagines de La Virgen en Los Murales on 24th Street, we meet at panaderia La Reyna, on 24 y Folsom and begin to walk to starting place como las 5:30 pm , beginning at Potrero y 24 and walking to all the imagines de La Virgen on 24th Street till we reach 24th y Mission, todos bienvenidos, tlazocamatli , remember if you can’t catch us a las 5:30 pm you can join us all along the street, it’s about 2 hours so if you can’t make the start u can join along the way, even at the end.
Every year in Tacuba, Mexico, Los Danzante’z after they dance at La Villa on the 12th of December, to La Virgen they dance at night in the Barrio de Tacuba at all the Altares dedicated to La Virgen , sometimes I remember, dancing there past midnight, its a beautiful feeling.
After the first year , maybe 97, I asked a neighbor if I could put an altar in their doorway because the we’re not using area, they said yes, I put an altar to La virgen with a sewn Virgen on a large cloth, for about 3 years Teokali danced for it, then we started Coyolxauqui in Rohnert park while I was teaching at Sonoma State University, in 2000 ish , and been dancing every year to the Murales since, every year
