Explore—and interact—with a curated selection of books, periodicals, posters, sketches, original art, and related ephemera that chronicle the history of written communications. From the invention of writing and medieval manuscripts to the advent of print and the proliferation of digital type, our collection illuminates humankind’s ongoing engagement with written expression. Please note that the tour focus will vary according to the expertise of the host.
Your guide for this special tour is Eve Scarborough.
Eve Scarborough (she/her), is a writer and book artist. Her work explores the tension between structure and content, memory and language loss, and information decay as it relates to archives. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from Mills College with a minor in Book Art. Presently, Eve assists with ongoing systematic digitization, imaging ephemera, process work, and more. Her favorite tool is her orange 30-60-90 drafting triangle.
