Got a show coming up and want feedback? Craving an audience? Have a new idea you want to test? Want to develop something but don't know where to start?
Bring it to Clown Jam—a space for physical theater makers to express and develop ideas, characters, and bits in front of others. No idea yet? Even better. Come ready to play and see what emerges.
This isn't a class—it's open stage time for experimentation and feedback. Bring snacks, props, costumes, and whatever you need because here, we take silly seriously.
Everyone is welcome. $10-30 sliding scale donation helps us cover the costs of running the space.
About Your Hosts
Flying along the edges of the world, Carmen Aguilar y Wedge—also known as Whoopsie—is a designer, artist, and physical theater maker.
In 2019 Carmen tumbled headfirst into the whimsical, political world of clown—and has taken “funny” seriously ever since. A devoted clown enthusiast and amateur historian, she channels the lineage of tricksters through her own body and stories on stage. Whoopsie is my clown and mime—a perpetual seeker of what she finds funny. She has an affinity for moths, oversized clothes, benevolent mischief, and blurting things out before they're fully formed. Oops!
Jessica Farber is interested in tending to their small corner of the world while keeping a spark of impulsive nature that keeps their life fluid with curiosity. Jessica is a visual artist, clown, improviser, nanny and pen to paper type of person. Also known as Jfarb, Farber or Jess they believe in the power of the stage and discovering connection with others in a creative and playful way.
