The Holiday Train is now an on-board experience offering fun for the whole family. Riders will enjoy beautifully decorated traincars as well as entertainment and even a visit from Santa himself!The Holiday Train will be making stops at Millbrae, San Mateo, Redwood City, Palo Alto, Mountain View, Santa Clara and San Jose Diridon Stations. A ticket for the Holiday Train works as a Day Pass, allowing riders to visit some of the many family events being held on December 13, including San Mateo on Ice, Redwood City's Hometown Holidays, Mountain View's German Night Market,  Santa Clara's South Bay Historical Railroad Society, and San Jose's Christmas in the Park.  Caltrain recommends ticket holders board at San Francisco Station so they can experience more of the Holiday Train, but they can also board at San Mateo or Palo Alto Stations if that is more convenient. Riders can deboard at any of the stations the Holiday Train serves. All Holiday Train attendees will receive a commemorative ticket that will act as a Day Pass, allowing them unlimited rides on Caltrain for the remainder of the day. However, this does not apply to the Northbound trip of the Holiday Train, you will need to purchase a ticket for both if you wish to ride the Holiday Train in both directions.
