- **Event Description**: For the past several decades, a group of sculptures and a magnificent work of Gladding McBean decorative terra cotta have languished on Treasure Island. These pieces were created by a number of distinguished local artists to convey the Golden Gate International Exposition's optimistic theme of "Pacific Unity." Under the stewardship of the United States Navy, followed by the City of San Francisco, these works of art have been disassembled, moved from place to place, put on display and then removed completely from public view. Anne Schnoebelen will present the story and the legacy of these works of art as they reflect the origins of the world's fair and Treasure Island itself.

Our speaker: Anne Schnoebelen is on the board of directors of the Treasure Island Museum. She has been writing and presenting about the history of Treasure Island, the Golden Gate International Exposition and its art programs, and the remaining works of exposition art and artifacts for many years.
