Dynamic Figure Painting & Drawing/ 6 Sessions

In this new Innovative figure drawing and painting class you will learn to create drawings and paintings that demonstrate accurate knowledge of the underlying architecture of the body while portraying the figure within interesting compositions. Specialized attention will first focus on gesture drawings and creating full-tonal artwork in charcoal and in dynamic paintings. Each Session provides you with life-drawing exercises and solid structured building blocks to add to your skill-building and confidence. We will examine works by figurative artists including Lucian Freud, Alice Neel, and Mark Tennant.

Who is this class for? Folks that want to:

• Learn how to draw and paint the figure.
• Understand very easy to learn basic anatomy and proportions.
• Portray both clothed and nude figures.
• Learn how to sketch in with paint.
• Learn how to transform your drawings into stunning paintings using a variety of informative, fun techniques. 
• Learn Methods to create dynamic compositions.
• Create Quick Gesture Drawings followed by longer poses to build your people painting and drawing skills.Optional Homework each week.

Leslie’s Creds: Taught Contemporary Life Drawing and Painting for The Austin Museum of Art’s Art School at Laguna Gloria, founded and hosted, Austin Full Monty Open Painting and Drawing Sessions for Austin Visual Arts Association. Leslie holds a B.F.A. in Fine Arts from The University of Texas at Austin and an A.A.S. in Video Game Art from A.C.C.
