The San Mateo County Women's Hall of Fame was the first of its kind in the State of California. Since its inception, the Hall of Fame has honored over 300 women for their contributions to our community.The Women's Hall of Fame is open to all women ("women/girls" refers to gender expansive adults & youth - cis, trans, non-binary, gender non-conforming, and gender queer), 18 years or older, regardless of race, color, national origin, disability, religion, political affiliation, or sexual orientation, who live or work in San Mateo County.In 1992, the "Young Women of Excellence Award" was added to the Hall of Fame providing visibility and empowerment to young women for their accomplishments in community service, academic achievement, and acts of courage and perseverance in their daily lives.More about this year's honorees can be found on the 2026 Women's Hall of Fame site.
