We hope to hear owls hooting, view the night sky, and enjoy the peace of a late fall forest after dark.Who Is Invited:This hike is open to all ages. Minors must be accompanied by their parent or legal guardian. No pets please.This is a public program intended for individuals or families. If you would like to bring a group for a program at Government Canyon, please contact the Park Interpreter at Lisa.Cole@tpwd.texas.gov to schedule at a different time.Registration, Fees, Day Pass &amp; Cancellation: Registration is required for this hike. Sorry, no group registrations.Registration opens on Saturday, two weeks prior to the event, and closes at noon, the Thursday before the event. Though the hike is free,  to the Natural Area apply.To save time at the Fee Booth and ensure entrance on crowded days, please pre-purchase and PRINT OUT a . SPECIAL NOTE: Reserving a Day Pass is NOT the same as making a program reservation.This outing is subject to cancellation. Check trail conditions by going to the  or the Government Canyon State Natural Area Facebook page.When &amp; Where to Meet: Meet at the Rainwater Tower outside the Visitor Center. Lots A &amp; B will have the closest parking. The hike will leave promptly at 6:00 pm, so please plan to arrive a little early. What to Wear &amp; Bring: Dress for hiking outdoors; comfortable shoes, bug spray and a hat are recommended. Bring at least 1 liter of water per person.If ADA assistance is required, please request modifications using this form, or email accessibility@tpwd.texas.gov at least 2 weeks in advance.
