Loss- and grief-related ailments remain widely unrecognized therefore unaddressed in traditional healthcare systems. This workshop offers group, partner and individual processes to provide participants with information, skills and resources to understand and transform the somatic aspects of grief.
Degriefing ® combines verbal counseling and integrative therapies to meet the needs of each individual. Integrating didactic and experiential teachings; individual and partner processes will normalizing and demonstrate the physical grief accumulated in our bodies and minds.
In this seminar we will work with some of the following: skillful inquiry, listening skills, MBSR meditation, music, yoga/breathwork, mindful walking, Tibetan bowls, tuning forks, aromatherapy and expressive arts.
Degriefing: Integrative Grief Therapy states that somatic grief is the most available, untapped emotional resource for personal transformation and healing.
Lyn Prashant, PhD, F.T., is a certified grief counselor and ADEC Fellow in Thanatology with over 25 years experience. A Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction teacher and Sivananda Yoga teacher, she developed the unique approach to grief counseling called Degriefing/Integrative Grief Therapy and has been featured on ABC radio, CBS TV, and magazines.
