About this Event

About The Greeting Committee

Comprised of Addie Sartino, Brandon Yangmi, Pierce Turcotte and Austin Fraser, the spirit of purposeful sharing has served as something of a lifeline for Kansas City-band The Greeting Committee. Formed in 2014, soon after Sartino and Yangmi got their start playing local open-mic nights, the band self-released their debut EP It's Not All That Bad in fall 2015. The EP's lead single "Hands Down" quickly became a breakout hit, paving the way for The Greeting Committee's signing to Harvest Records when they were all still in high school.

After making their Harvest debut with the Meeting People Is Easy EP in 2017 and the subsequent release of This Is It, the band spent much of the next few years on the road, with sold-out headline shows in major markets such as Chicago, Austin, New York, Los Angeles and Minneapolis. To date, they've toured with the likes of Bombay Bicycle Club, Tennis, Hippo Campus, and Rainbow Kitten Surprise and taken the stage at leading festivals like Lollapalooza and SXSW, in addition to delivering the I'm Afraid I'm Not Angry EP in late 2019 and appearing in Netflix's To All the Boys: Always and Forever in 2021. The coming months have a lot more in store from the band with their second album out on September 24th entitled Dandelion.

About Maggie Gently

Maggie Gently (she/her) is a San Francisco-based indie songwriter with a fondness for wild schemes and intimate gestures. Maggie is a queer woman whose identity is important to her and the community she creates and participates in.

Maggie Gently’s music is melody-driven and heartfelt — a big-city indie rock fascination with an unmistakable emo accent. Her songs are about how making decisions for your own mental health can feel like a matter of survival. Her debut EP Good Cry (May 28, 2020, Brace Cove Records) and 2020 singles Where My Time Went and Bitter Pills (Common Ground Collective) explored heartbreak, attempts at healing, learning things the hard way, establishing boundaries, and protecting your heart. Her new music peers around the edges of trauma for a new glimpse at what growth could look like.

Maggie Gently’s music is inspired by bands like Snail Mail and Lala Lala, Tancred, and Clairo. Maggie also finds inspiration in Meg Hayertz’ “Make It, Mean It” tarot-focused guided meditations, lesbian romance novels, and the Enneagram.

Maggie's newest single Hold My Hand was recorded by Grace Coleman at El Studio in San Francisco and Brian Ishiba in Los Angeles, and mixed and mastered by Grace Coleman. The song was produced by Eva Treadway (Pllush, The She’s), who also played lead guitar. Joey Grabmeier (Joy Weather, Maggie’s brother) played drums on the song, and Sinclair Riley (Pllush, The She’s) played bass.
