San Francisco Movie Tour

What better way to celebrate the 95th Academy Awards on March 12th, but to tour San Francisco’s movie locations? San Francisco has a rich history of being used as a backdrop over the years.  We’ll explore movie locations from the golden age of Hollywood to the present as we traverse various San Francisco districts. You may have heard of all or some of these movies and even remember seeing some of them and others not.  So dress the part and slip behind the wheel of your Mercedes-Benz and you’ll be the Star exploring the different locations.  You never know where the next movie is being filmed. And, who knows, there may be a red carpet and an Oscar waiting!

We all know that parking in San Francisco is scarce at best, especially on the weekends. So, the meeting point will not be in the usual manner of a Starbucks or Peet’s parking lot. Instead, you’ll first need to pickup your coffee and breakfast snacks before we meet.  There’s a Starbucks, a Peet’s Coffee and Noah’s Bagels on Chestnut St between Mallorca and Pierce Street in the Marina District, not far from our meeting point. Once you have your caffeine fix, we’ll meet at the Marina Greens parking lot off Marina Blvd at 9:00 –9:45 Am, so we are ready to depart at 10:00 AM.  Once the drive begins, there won’t be any rest stops as we will be driving mostly through residential areas. Also, we will do our best to caravan, however with stops signs, lights and city traffic, that may not always be possible but we will meet at the ending point. Detailed movie locations and directions will be provided before the start of the drive.

At the conclusion of the tour in the Noe Valley Neighborhood, feel free to find other members and explore local restaurants in that neighborhood or any other areas of San Francisco that intrigued you.  Below are a few local restaurants:
