One of these general aviation airfields ran along what is today, Clairemont Drive between Iroquois and Rappahannock avenues. Land was graded in 1948 for a 2,700-foot runway and parallel taxiway.

   San Diego Airpark was short-lived when Burgener and Tavares fetched the property in 1951, and later sold three acres to the Methodist Conference. Arise, St. Mark’s! 

 A row of airport structures was used by the church but removed long before the cornerstone to the mighty sanctuary was laid in 1962. Come and enjoy pictures and narrative of two airports commemorating Clairemont's 75th anniversary.
