- **Event Description**: Join us for the City of Sammamish Earth Day celebration! This event will feature crafts, activities, informational booths, giveaways, food trucks, performances, petting zoo, live reptiles, nocturnal animals, a native plant scavenger hunt, and a special presentation from The Falconer!   All ages are welcome! 

Sammamish Community Wildlife Habitat will have an education booth where we will give away the Gardening for Wildlife Edition of the National Wildlife Federation magazine as well as Ranger Rick magazines for the young ones in your family and pollinator seed packets. Colorful handouts will be available on a variety of wildlife topics such as birdfeeders, attracting hummingbirds and butterflies pollinator gardening, and neighbor- friendly wildlife gardening. Our booth will have information on how to certify your backyard as a wildlife habitat. We also will have a children's activity table. 

Since native plants provide habitat for wildlife and many of our group are native plant stewards, we will also be sponsoring a Washington Native Plant Society booth as well as a Sammamish Stewards booth. Here you can learn more about specific native plants that can work in your garden and are beautiful while also serving a secondary purpose, attracting birds, butterflies and bees to your garden as well as how to volunteer in our City's public lands.  Native plants will be given away at the Sammamish Steward booth while the supply lasts.

This is an extra special year as our city is celebrating 15 years as a certified Community Wildlife Habitat with the National Wildlife Federation.  We will have a special presentation of our 15 year certificate at noon on the steps of Beaver Lake Lodge.  We will be asking all those who have certified their property to join us for this presentation and photo.
