The Reelfoot NWR Youth Fishing Rodeo is open to 12 year old children and younger. Approx. 300 participants enjoy the day fishing around 2 large ponds and are provided goody bags, prizes for each child, the opportunity to win prizes for catching the biggest fish in each age category, and a meal for all participants which includes hotdogs, hamburgers, chips, cookies and a drink. Donators from multiple towns provide prizes and funds for this event to our Friends of West TN Refuges. Registration is done on arrival. Parking is located next to the ponds. Bring your own chair and fishing pole. Bait provided while supplies last.

On Bobby Wilson Free Fishing Day June 6th, 2026 all state residents and visitors of any age may fish for free without a license in Tennessee's public waters. Additionally, youth ages 15 or younger may fish for free the entire week, beginning on Free Fishing Day (June 6) and continuing through the following Friday, June 12.

No registration is required.
Age Limit: 1 - 12 years old

Host Organization: Reelfoot National Wildlife Refuge

Other Partners: TWRA, Tyson, Community Bank and trust, Burks Beverages, Coca Cola, Food Rite, Sonic, Dairy Queen, NAPA, Reelfoot Bass Club, and Grizzley Jig.
