DESCRIPTION

All across Europe, democracy is being tested. From the rise of populist movements to growing distrust in political institutions, the very foundations of democratic governance are under pressure. 

What does this mean for the European project as well as for national democratic politics? And for citizens’ faith in representation and accountability?

Join us for a conversation with David Cormand, Member of the European Parliament from the Greens/EFA Group, as we explore the challenges facing democracy in Europe today. 

From Brussels to the national level, how can democratic institutions remain legitimate, responsive, and resilient in times of polarization, populism, and democratic erosion?
