Der Tango Nuevo (Tanz) entstand rund um die 1990er Jahre nicht als Bruch mit dem traditionellen Tango, sondern als Erforschung von Möglichkeiten, die schon immer in den Wurzeln des Tango und seiner Struktur angelegt waren. Off-Axis- Bewegungen, offenere/elastische Umarmung und räumliche Freiheit sind dabei keine Abkehr von Technik und System, sondern eine Erweiterung der Prinzipien und kreativen Möglichkeiten. Nicht zu verwechseln mit Nuevo Tango – dem von Astor Piazzolla geprägten Musikstil, der bereits in den 1950er Jahren entstand. Der europäische Ausdruck “Neo Tango” bezeichnet in erster Linie eine Musikrichtung bzw. DJ-Kultur: Tanzen zu Crossover aus Tango & Electronica, Indie, Weltmusik und andere Genres. _____________________ Bei miejeTango beginnt alles mit der inneren Achse – eje (span. = Achse) – jenem Ort, an dem Körper, Empfindung und Musik in Einklang kommen.
