Following on from my previous post, I’m going to go ahead with the race night. The date, time, and location will be confirmed soon. This will be a ticketed event, with tickets priced at £3 each, available to purchase directly from me.
All money raised on the night will be donated to Headstart4Babies, a charity that helps support families whose babies have plagiocephaly and brachycephaly.
As many of you know, when Beau was a baby he had to wear a helmet for four months, 23 hours a day, with just one hour off. In Beau’s case, he handled it amazingly and was an absolute little trooper. The company we used, Technology in Motion, were incredible. We travelled to their clinic regularly to have his helmet adjusted, and I honestly can’t thank them enough for everything they did for us.
I just wish there was more awareness around this. I had no idea about plagiocephaly or brachycephaly until Beau was finally referred to physio, and by then it was too late for physio to be an option. As this treatment is no longer funded by the NHS, we had to go private, which sadly isn’t affordable for many families. That’s where Headstart4Babies steps in, helping families fund treatment so they can get the help their children need.
As mentioned, all money raised on the night — including ticket sales, games, etc. — will go directly to this charity. All I ask is that you spare a little time to come along, support us, and help other babies like our Beau.
I’ve linked both the charity and the clinic websites below for anyone who would like to learn more.
