Step into spring and soak up the scenery all whilst raising much-needed funds for mental health services across the South West.
A special open gardens event at Pentillie Castle will offer visitors chance to discover secret paths, enjoy some springtime blooms and sample the delights of the pop-up cafe in the grounds.
Held on Saturday 14 March 2026, the 17th-century Cornish castle and estate, which is located at St Mellion near Saltash, will be raising funds for both Cornwall Mind and Devon Mind.
Pentillie Castle’s historic gardens, covering 55 acres, are only open to the public on specific days of the year, and this will be the first chance to visit in 2026.
Doors open at 12 noon and visitors will be able to wander through Pentillie Castle’s evergreen trails, enjoy winding woodland walks and the peaceful river spots, made famous by BBC 1’s Beyond Paradise.
Light lunches and refreshments will be available at the Castle’s dining room from noon.
A perfect day out for families, gardeners and nature-lovers. Dogs are welcome too (but must be kept on a short lead).
Tickets for the Pentillie Castle Open Gardens cost £7.50 per person but are free for under-16s and 2026 Friends of Pentillie card holders. The proceeds from the event will be spilt equally between both charities.
