We Keep Singing: Voices That Cannot Be Silenced is a fundraising concert honoring families & individuals living under the threat of detention, deportation, and separation. In a time when raids, fear, and uncertainty shape daily life for many in our communities, this program offers opera as witness – giving voice to stories of exile, longing, love, loss, and the unbreakable human need for home and dignity. This concert also stands in the shadow of recent killings by federal immigration agents in Minnesota. These incidents, where unarmed people were killed during encounters with immigration enforcement, is part of a pattern that many communities know too well. We cannot ignore this reality. Through music and shared presence, we refuse silence. We remember.
Featuring a large ensemble of local singers, through some of opera’s most powerful music, our performance stands in solidarity with those who live in fear, while also nurturing resilience, community, and hope. This concert supports efforts that defend and uplift immigrant families, reminding us that even in the darkest moments, music and community endure. We keep singing – for those who cannot, for those who are waiting, and for a future where every family can live in safety and peace.
We are fundraising for Wasatch Immigration Project & Community Aid Network: Minnesota.
