We surveyed a portion of this site last week but it is a big area so we will revisit any areas we didn't get to last week. Meet at Hogle Zoo main entrance at 7:00AM. Look for Hogle Zoo staff waiting for you there.TransportationDepart from Utah's Hogle Zoo. Ride in Zoo vehicle. Leave your car in our main guest lot. Drive to site is about 2 hrs.How to get to Zoo parking: Head east on Sunnyside Ave and turn right into the main entrance. Park anywhere in the main lot. Walk to the front gate ticket office with your gear to find Zoo staff waiting for you.Difficulty4/10. We will survey parts of Low Pass Creek near Currant Creek Reservoir. There is no major hike to get to the site though we will be walking through and surveying several beaver dam complexes. It is off-trail and will involve walking through dense vegetation (willows and tall grasses)and uneven forest terrain.Difficulty rating 1-10:1 - easy, little elevation gain, on-trail, short distance hiking10 - hard, significant elevation gain, uneven terrain, off-trail, dense vegetation, long distance hikingWhat to bring/wearComfortable hiking clothes and close-toed shoes you don't mind getting dirty/wet (lightweight hiking pants/work pants recommended over shorts). A daypack with a packed lunch, snacks, water (minimum 64oz recommended), sun protection (hat, glasses), rain jacket (rain pants if you have them), warm layers if needed, extra socks (keep these in your backpack). Water/rain boots or waders are recommended but not required (your feet are likely to get wet). Some prefer to wear lightweight long sleeve shirts to protect them from getting scratched by vegetation.
