This will not be a traditional funeral service. Shawn wouldn’t have wanted that. He wanted a party. A gathering. A wake. A room full of laughter, stories, football talk, music, food, and people giving each other a hard time while remembering the moments that made Shawn who he was.

Proud of his Irish roots, Shawn would absolutely appreciate the spirit of an Irish wake — but this celebration will be done the only way that feels right… Heathen style. Expect laughs. Expect tears. Expect 49ers gear. Expect stories that probably shouldn’t be repeated in public. Most importantly, expect a celebration worthy of the larger-than-life person Shawn was.

In honor of one of the biggest diehard 49ers fans to ever live, we encourage everyone to wear San Francisco 49ers gear or at minimum red, gold, black, or white.
