Salmon Arm Arts Centre presents An Evening of Stand-Up Comedy with Charlie Demers!
Charlie Demers will be filling the Salmon Arm Arts Centre with laughter on October 2, 2025, featuring Faris Hytiaa as the opening act.
“We are so excited to offer this intimate comedy show as part of the Shine A Light exhibition which explores mental health challenges with an emphasis on hope and healing. Laughter, joy and connection are essential to our wellbeing and it's going to be great to have Charlie and Feris to stop by for the evening to help us out with that” says Director Christie Watson of the Arts Centre.
Charlie Demers is a Juno-nominated stand-up comedian, BC Book Prize-nominated author, political speechwriter & communications consultant, and co-star of two Emmy-winning Netflix animated series, Beat Bugs and The Last Kids on Earth. He has performed for national television and radio audiences and at the Just for Laughs Festival and is one of the most frequently returning stars of CBC Radio’s smash-hit comedy show The Debaters.
Known for his relaxed delivery and quick wit, his unpredictable style makes for big laughs and unforgettable crowd work moments. Born in Toronto to Sudanese parents and then raised in Alberta, Faris brings a unique mix of storytelling and observational humour to the stage.
