While out for a post-work walk the other day, I noticed a load of tree shelters (plastic tree guards) that are mostly well overdue for removal on Pearce Way. Who fancies giving me (Charley) a hand to remove and dispose of them?
Children welcome with an adult who will supervise 1:1 at all times.
Meet at the zebra crossing on Pearce Way.
Climbing over a fence and/or up a steep slope will be necessary due to the location of the trees. If this isn’t possible for you, you can collect and bag up the tree shelters on level ground on the other side of the fence - an important task!
Bring:
- Gardening/work gloves if you have them (I can bring a few spare pairs)
- Tough scissors and/or secateurs if you’re happy to use them (again I can bring a few extra)
- Big bags for collecting the shelters in, e.g. dumpy/tonne/builders bags.
- Dress for the weather in clothes and sturdy shoes that you don't mind getting dirty.
Afterwards, we’ll need some willing volunteers to drive the rubbish to the tip.
If anyone fancies bringing some snacks to share, that would be lovely!
