- **Event Description**: Making dolls out of what ever is available has a lengthy history.  Sometimes it's just a handkerchief tied in knots.  In this workshop we going to elaborate on that concept and make slightly fancier dolls out of wooden spoons.

Each doll will be a one of a kind creation.  We'll start with a little fashion history.  After all history is a large part of our business. Then you'll decide whether your doll is from the 18th or 19th Century. 

All materials are provided.   You'll learn how to create the faces, pattern the clothes, and create specific fashion effects. You'll learn a few basic hand sewing techniques,  but we'll use the glue gun a lot.  You can finish off with a simple cap or go the extra step and make a mini hat for your doll.

We have plenty of fabric scraps and samples, ribbons, beads, trim, etc.  There will paints and yarn and cord for creating faces, hair, and arms.  We'll also have needles, and thread and scissors.   You don't need to bring anything but if you have some personal scraps, fabric, etc. that you want to use bring them along.

Class is limited to eight participants.  10:30 t0 1:30 is the basic dall with just a cap. Cost is $35 per person for a doll with just a cap.  For those who want a hat for their doll, come back at 2:30 to 3:30 for making hats.  An additional $10 per person is charged for the hat portion of the workshop.
