A relaxed introduction to handweaving on a simple loom.
Join Ellie Fisher from Elka Textiles for a full-day frame loom weaving workshop in the beautiful gallery space at Fisherton Mill, Salisbury.
Frame weaving (also known as tapestry weaving) is a simple, meditative way to explore texture, pattern and colour. You’ll create a small woven artwork using natural materials and discover how accessible — and addictive — this traditional craft can be.
Over six hours of guided tuition, Ellie (a weaver with over 20 years’ experience) will take you through choosing yarns, setting up your loom, weaving techniques, and how to finish your piece.
All materials are provided, including organic cotton, bamboo, flax and hemp fibres, plus clear handouts to take home. Tea, coffee and biscuits are available throughout the day, and you’ll receive a 20% discount on lunch in the Fisherton Mill Gallery Café.
Spaces are limited to keep the group small and hands-on, so early booking is recommended.
Co-hosted with Fisherton Mill — Salisbury’s vibrant hub for art, craft and creativity.
