McClendon creates programs, events and activities to enhance and broaden the experience of various exhibits and artworks with the Marianna Kistler Beach Museum of Art. His Community Portrait Project is part of an ongoing exhibit that showcases the value of every individual's story. The project utilizes face reading, the innate process through which we perceive status, character and intention while looking into the face of another. The portraits are then displayed in public spaces as a blend of visual art and neuropsychology, inviting the community to see itself in a deeper, more meaningful way.
