Info: The session will open with a couple of short screenings; first Makerworld, an innovative initiative from The Children's Art School that has transformed an empty retail space in Huddersfield into a hub for free, creative workshops for children and young people. Then we will watch The Play-Full Cities Project from Salford and hear about the Play is Powerful Strategy, which is contributing to Salford’s ambition to become a UNICEF Child Friendly City.
Following the screenings, there will be Q&A session with the film’s creator Maire Tracey and a discussion with contributors including Chloe Williams CEO of The Children’s Art School, Naomi Lewis, Chair of Salford Cultural Educational Partnership and Emma Bearman, director of Playful Anywhere. Emma brings extensive experience from her work with pop-up play spaces, Playlabs, Playlaws, PLAYBOX, creative festivals and playful projects that make public spaces more inclusive and welcoming.
