It is a compact gym designed for one purpose: to get strong. No house plants, no group exercise, no frills. Just top equipment, whole gym floored suitable for heavy lifts, loud music, and it is kept clean and tidy. Here, every piece of equipment has its place, and it has its purpose. Owned by one of the most accomplished lifters in UK (and in his native Poland), Adnrzej Roszkowski, we see more often than not our host himself entering the meet, leaving audience open mouthed with near 400kg squats and 250+ RAW bench presses! When competition day arrives, the place is absolutely heaving, full of bodies, all getting their warmups in. Not the easiest place to do your first meet ever. Every year we say this, and every year we have a host of first timers taking the stage anyway! Not that they complain, the electric atmosphere and controlled chaos of the day gets your adrenaline racing. Competitions at SILA are intimate, it is loud, and there is some heavy tin lifted.
