Our studios are housed in a historic former tannery building in Salem’s Gallows Hill neighborhood at 16 Proctor Street, Salem MA. What truly sets Gallows Hill Artists apart is our commitment to artistic growth and engagement. We host artist gatherings, workshops, collaborative projects, and open studio events that encourage both resident artists and the public to connect and create. At Gallows Hill Artists, creativity is celebrated. Join us on Saturday, May 30, visit 28 artists in their studios, view new gallery exhibits, and shop our art market. We’re located in a former tannery at Proctor’s Ledge; this historic building survived the Great Salem Fire of 1914. Today, Gallows Hill Artists upholds this legacy of creativity and resilience, offering a vibrant community inspired by its unique history and character.
