Bodhran Workshop - Week 1 - Reels & Jigs

Just in time for St Patrick's Day we'll be learning the Bodhran in our 'Drums Around the World' series for the next 3 weeks.

I'm Linda Marie and I have been playing the Bodhran for about 20 years. I was with the band West of Galway for 18 years before I moved to Virginia.

There's a lot of Old time music here with Celtic Roots and the Bodhran is a perfect accompanying instrument to join in with.

I'll be teaching the basics so beginners are welcome and then we'll work on some fun reel patterns in 4/4 and a few jigs in 6/8 as well.

I have a few extra bodhrans if you don't have one and if we need to we can always drum on Pizza boxes!!
