Tony Award-Winning Musical Comedy Runs March 27–29 in Salem, NH

The Arts Academy of New Hampshire Drama Club invites audiences to an evening of laughter, wit, and theatrical mischief with its spring production of A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder, running March 27–29 at the school’s Performing Arts Center (19 Keewaydin Drive, Salem, NH).

Performances will take place Friday and Saturday at 7:30 PM, with matinees Saturday and Sunday at 2:00 PM. 

Winner of four Tony Awards, including Best Musical, A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder is a fast-paced, dark comedy that has delighted audiences nationwide. The story follows Monty Navarro, a charming young man who discovers he is eighth in line to inherit an earldom in the aristocratic D’Ysquith family. Determined to move up in the line of succession, Monty embarks on a hilariously devious plan—eliminating his unsuspecting relatives one by one. Along the way, he must navigate love, ambition, and the consequences of his increasingly outrageous actions.

Directed by faculty member Dan Pelletier, with music direction by Rebecca Carle and choreography by Alyson Hagg, the production highlights the extraordinary talents of Arts Academy students across multiple disciplines.

“This is one of the funniest shows I’ve ever had the pleasure of directing,” said Pelletier. “It has given us an incredible opportunity to showcase our performing arts students and our visual arts students between the challenging comedic characters, the intricate music, and the rich design opportunities for the set, props, and costumes. It’s incredible to be at a school that allows individual talents to shine while also celebrating the collaborative nature of theatre.”

The production exemplifies the mission of Arts Academy of New Hampshire, a public charter high school dedicated to nurturing creative thinkers, active citizens, and independent learners through a rigorous academic curriculum integrated with the arts. Students at Arts Academy engage daily in artistic study across disciplines including theater, music, dance, and visual arts, developing both individual voice and collaborative skills—values that are fully realized in this dynamic production.
