- **Event Description**: On Thursday, September 17th, 2025, from 3:00 – 5:00 pm, Rondo Center of Diverse Expressions (RCODE) will hold the 9th Annual Ceremony to dedicate commemorative brick pavers along the Rondo Commemorative Plaza’s History Walk. As we gather, each attendee will be invited to share a few words on stage about their brick. This year, we will hear the stories behind bricks, reflecting diverse memories of families, friends, businesses, and organizations tied to Rondo.

The 2026 Rondo Achievement Award winner — Yusef Mgeni — will have a brick installed along the history walk, in recognition of his achievements.

We are also excited to announce that in addition to brick path website, designed by Macalester College student Jonah Zimmer, we have some stories from past purchasers available soon on the website with interviews conducted by Macalester College student Moises Soto Puente. The website will enable brick purchasers to find their bricks more easily and share their location with family & friends. The interviews will share the experience of what the bricks mean to Rondo individuals and families. 

Lastly, we want to take a moment to recognize Thomas & Sandra Kustermann, who have covered the cost of bricks for centenarians and Rondo Achievement Award winners. Thomas' grandfather, Emmett McGill, owned McGill Grocery Store at 820 Rondo Ave, now home to the Rondo Commemorative Plaza and the engraved brick path.
