- **Event Description**: Join us as we explore the world of fine art floral photography! This hands-on workshop is designed for photographers of any skill level who would like to learn how to create fine art floral images using simple tabletop setups and controlled lighting.

Led by NCE photo expert Becky Clark, we will begin the workshop with an introduction to the key elements of flower photography, followed by a live demonstration of studio lighting techniques. Becky will share her step-by-step approach to lighting the subject that includes a combination of artistic vision, technical skill, and creative expression. 

After laying the groundwork, it’s time to roll up your sleeves and dive into hands-on exploration! In the hands-on portion of the workshop, you’ll experiment with single-stem compositions, floral arrangements, and abstract techniques while exploring the unique shapes, forms, and textures of each flower. With expert guidance, you’ll learn how to use props and backgrounds to enhance your images and bring out the natural beauty of your subject.

BE PREPARED:
This event will be held in our classroom on the second floor of the building, which is accessible by stairs or elevator. Please arrive a few minutes early so we can check everyone in and begin the class on time.

WHAT TO BRING:
• Camera: DSLR, mirrorless, or film cameras are welcome.
• Lenses: Focal lengths between 50mm and 100mm are ideal, though there’s flexibility depending on your creative approach.
• Memory Cards & Batteries: Please bring extra memory cards and fully charged batteries.
• Tripod (optional): A tripod can provide added stability, assist with precise framing, and allow you to adjust objects in your scene without needing to recompose.

WHAT WE'LL PROVIDE:
• LED lighting equipment, reflectors, and a limited number of tripods will be available for use during the workshop, so you can focus on learning and experimenting without needing additional gear.
• You’ll also have access to a curated collection of objects and backdrops designed specifically for fine art floral photography, giving you the opportunity to explore different textures, colors, and styling approaches throughout the hands-on portion of the class.
• Each attendee will receive a full-color, spiral-bound workshop guide filled with key techniques, creative exercises, and expert tips to continue refining your skills long after the workshop ends.
