In this Sunday’s gospel taken from John 3:13–17, we read a passage which speaks powerfully about God’s mercy and love for us.
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
In a nutshell, this Gospel reminds us that salvation is not about what we can achieve by our own strength, but about opening our hearts to the gift of God’s love in Jesus. Unfortunately,
sometimes we may see God as a stern judge, but Jesus reveals the truth: He came not to condemn, but to restore; not to exclude, but to embrace us all in His saving love.
As we read in the gospel, just as Moses lifted the bronze serpent in the desert so that all who looked upon it could be healed, in the same way, we are invited to turn our gaze towards Jesus on the cross—the One who was lifted up for us—so that we too may find healing, forgiveness, and life.
We invite you to join us for Mass this Sunday to experience the redeeming love of God and allow it to penetrate our hearts and transform our lives. Let’s shift our focus from what is earthly and temporary to what is eternal and truly necessary.
