# Event Details - **Event Name**: HVAC Design for High-Performance Buildings Training - **Event Start and End Date**: Tue, 18 Nov, 2025 at 08:30 am – Wed, 19 Nov, 2025 at 04:30 pm - **Event Description**: This two day training covers the fundamental principles of high-performance buildings and its impact on the energy demand of HVAC systems.About this EventThis training registration cost (not including travel and expenses) will be paid for by the federal government’s Code Acceleration Fund for New Brunswick Residents. The training covers the fundamental principles of high-performance buildings, including typologies such as passive buildings, NZEB, and carbon-neutral designs, as well as energy and environmental performance targets. It provides a detailed exploration of the building envelope—insulation, glazing, compactness, thermal bridging, and infiltration—and its impact on the energy demand of HVAC systems.Special attention is given to the National Energy Code for Buildings (NECB): its history, structure, compliance pathways (prescriptive, trade-off, performance), envelope requirements, thermal bridging, air leakage, changes in HVAC systems, NECB tiers, and future energy codes. The training also covers energy load profiles, energy modeling, climate resiliency, and the importance of system sizing. It presents water-side heating strategies (low-temperature systems, geothermal, air-source energy, ventilation heating, renewable energy integration, district heating, and domestic hot water) and air-side cooling and dehumidification strategies, tailored to different building types. The commissioning process and post-construction verification of energy savings are also covered.Real-world case studies from Canada will be presented, analyzing technical choices, outcomes, and challenges, followed by interactive discussions on practical applications in the context of New Brunswick.Target audience is the HVAC design community: mechanical engineers, designers and technologists. - **Event URL**: https://allevents.in/saint-john/hvac-design-for-high-performance-buildings-training/100001661069025169 - **Event Categories**: workshops, art - **Interested Audience**: - total_interested_count: 0 ## Ticket Details - **Ticket Price Range**: min: 0, max: 0, currency: CAD ## Event venue details - **city**: Saint John - **state**: NB - **country**: Canada - **location**: Saint John Trade & Convention Centre - **lat**: 45.2727417 - **long**: -66.0652908 - **full address**: Saint John Trade & Convention Centre, 1 Market Square, Saint John, Canada ## Event gallery - **Alt text**: HVAC Design for High-Performance Buildings Training - **Image URL**: https://cdn-az.allevents.in/events7/banners/d5d9ac2b9cda52870ee23be0197dc419e0bbd4ad47e23792b89668588f04cd93-rimg-w1200-h800-dcd6a960-gmir.jpg?v=1761334683 ## FAQs - **Q**: When and where is HVAC Design for High-Performance Buildings Training being held? - **A:** HVAC Design for High-Performance Buildings Training takes place on Tue, 18 Nov, 2025 at 08:30 am to Wed, 19 Nov, 2025 at 04:30 pm at Saint John Trade & Convention Centre, 1 Market Square, Saint John, Canada. - **Q**: Who is organizing HVAC Design for High-Performance Buildings Training? - **A:** HVAC Design for High-Performance Buildings Training is organized by SaveEnergyNB / EcoEnergieNB. - **Q**: Who is this event for?
