Fog City Rollers is dedicated to training and developing roller skaters at all skill levels and interests. Our mission is to provide a fun, safe and competitive environment for all who participate.

WHAT IS THE LEARN TO SKATE PROGRAM?
The Learn to Skate Program is a 12-week program.
The 12-week program introduces you to the foundation required to rollerskate with the option that once you finish the program you may be eligible to become a member of the Fog City Rollers and join our Rollerderby Foundations program.  

WHAT EQUIPMENT DO I NEED?
All participants are required to wear the following protective gear and cannot be on the track with any missing items:
Helmet (Roller Derby Helmet or Hockey Helmet)
Roller Derby Wrist guards
Roller Derby Elbow pads
Roller Derby Kneepads
Mouth guard
4-wheel (quad) roller skates (no heals)
Athletic sneakers
Bring a big water bottle and come dressed in athletic clothing.

There are several other online businesses but make sure they are located in Canada unless you are okay with paying duty and currency difference. Keep in mind if purchasing out of country it may take longer to receive your items.
Fog City Rollers has a small collection of gear that we are currently doing inventory on in hopes of loaning out. If you are interested in learning more about this option please contact us at fogcityrollers@gmail.com .

WHO CAN JOIN?
Fog City Rollers Learn to Skate Program is the place for anyone over the age of 19 interested in learning the sport of roller derby, trying out for the league, interested in being a referee/official or just working on your skating and roller derby skills for overall fitness and fun. All skill levels are welcome!

HOW IS IT STRUCTURED?
One night a week, normally 7pm to 9pm, starting in September through December.  

We will be practicing in the Hillcrest Gym Tuesday evenings from 7-9pm starting September 15th.

The Learn to Skate Program consists of 12 weekly 2 hour practice sessions and taught by experienced Fog City Rollers coaches and skaters.
