In this focused, beginner-friendly workshop, you’ll learn the art of slab construction to create a functional, two-piece ceramic butter dish.
Whether you’re a fan of the classic "stick" shape or prefer a wider "European style" dish, this class gives you the tools to design a piece that fits your kitchen’s aesthetic perfectly.
The Process
Using rolled slabs of professional stoneware, you will learn to cut, join, and reinforce your clay to create a lid and base.
Custom Dimensions: Build a dish that fits your favorite brand of butter.
Surface Design: This is where your personality shines! Choose from our library of textures, handmade stamps, and sprig molds to decorate the exterior of your lid.
The "Final Touch": Design a unique handle or knob for the top, keep it sleek and modern or go for something whimsical.
Professional Firing: We take care of the technical side. We’ll fire and glaze your piece in your choice of studio finish.
What’s included:
Clay, tools, underglazes, and glazes
Instructor demos and guided work time
1 Casserole Dish that will be fired and ready for pick up in 2-3 weeks
