Tap dancing is an American art form originating in 19th-century New York, fusing European folk dances with West African step dancing. In Tap Level IV, students ages 11 through 18 delve deeper into both Broadway and Rhythm tap (hoofing) traditions. Dancers work through a progressive tap technique syllabus focusing on complex rhythmic patterns, multi-layered time steps, and dynamic across-the-floor combinations. Designed like learning to play a percussion instrument with your feet, this class develops advanced musical timing, physical control, and sharp step memorization.

Dress Code & Footwear Requirements

Required footwear includes tan leather lace-up split-sole/flex tap shoes with non-slip soles (Capezio, Leo, Bloch, or Signature by Dancing Fair). 
Boys may also wear Capezio Premiere black lace-up tap shoes. Please ask your instructor to measure and order your shoes on the first day of class. 
Girls must wear a black leotard with light peachy-pink ballet tights, and boys should wear black leggings or jazz pants with a white T-shirt.
 Optional dance wear includes ballet skirts, legwarmers, and fitted dance sweaters.

Discount Policy

Families registering for three or more separate classes throughout the school year with Miss Danielle will receive a 15% discount on tuition. Please note that already-discounted multi-class offerings are excluded from additional discounts. Contact the office during registration to apply this savings to your account.
