A drum circle is a gathering of people who come together to create music.
No percussion training is necessary. Anyone who has ever banged two pot lids together or drummed on the steering wheel can play.
A Facilitator offers ideas or guidance, but just enough for the players to get comfortable playing as the spirit moves them. This is not rehearsing for a performance, but creating music in the moment.
Music can calm or energize, but most of all connects. Sometimes the music just flows along like a river of sound, and sometimes magic happens and everybody smiles. There is no pressure to perform, just acceptance of your contribution to the group.
Drum circles are open to anyone, regardless of age, ability or experience.
Anyone interested in participating in a drum circle should meet at Salem Lutheran Church, 90 Riverside Drive, from 1-2 p.m. There is no cost, no commitment and no registration needed.
Questions before the drum circle can be directed to the church office, 320-252-1625 or
