Member Meeting on Tuesday, December 2 at 6pm. We will meet at the Southeast Branch of the SJC Public Library. After the meeting we will meet at Umai for drinks & dinner. Key agenda items include:

Also – please bring all your retired sneakers (must be in pairs – ideally have the laces tied together). We are reviving the Used Sneaker Collection Program!

ACRR is an active partner with GotSneakers. This FREE sneaker recycling program extends the life of used sneakers through reuse and recycling, while offering our club a small financial opportunity for every pair of sneakers we contribute!
Here is how it works:
1. ACRR members can bring sneakers to donate at all club meetings or weekly runs (please tie the sneakers together with the laces to keep the pair intact)
2. Our ACRR point of contact (Jennifer Rensing) gathers all donations and sends them to GotSneakers
3. GotSneakers professionally trained staff will evaluate each pair of donated sneakers by style, condition, brand, and measurement. This determines if the pair can be recirculated to secondhand markets so people can access quality, used footwear at affordable prices, or recycled to reusable materials/converted as waste into new energy.
4. Based on this determination, ACRR may receive compensation for each donated pair per established sneaker guidelines.
Most people in the United States throw away their used sneakers every 125-200 days without ever thinking about recycling. Since sneakers are manufactured with materials that are not biodegradable, they remain in landfills or are incinerated, which leads to toxic chemicals in our air and soil. Let’s reduce our waste footprint and help the club! Please bring your used sneakers (Must be paired athletic footwear – no singles accepted) to donate at club meetings!
