Celebrate the return of the sun with ritual and community!
This Yule (tentative, there may be a format change) we will honor the Dísir (or Idises), the maternal ancestors. While traditionally an observation of close family, you are welcome to address the collective mothers of us all as well as your own specific forebears.
We assemble at 1:00pm, and ritual begins at 1:30 & lasts around an hour, followed by food and fellowship afterwards. We do not close a circle, so you are allowed to arrive late; we simply ask that you join us quietly. Also, if you wish, feel free to bring a personal offering for any Ancestor, Nature Spirit, or Deity of your choosing to offer during our Praise Offerings. We welcome you to pray at our good fire!
We'd love for you to bring a dish to share in one of our famous potlucks, but no one will be turned away from the table for lack of contribution; you'll find that our spread is always impressive and delicious, and many food sensitivities are regularly taken into account.
A note regarding new and exciting viruses;
We acknowledge that many people need in person public ritual. As long as our space is available, and the law allows, we intend to have in person public ritual. Given the transmissibility of the current diseases, we do recommend vaccination, masks, and distance. We will be outside for ritual. We will be making use of the indoor space in room 12 for food though, and there is no mandate for masking at this time. Individual tolerances will prevail. If you need to attend remotely, some Groves are providing this service. Stone Creed Grove, Three Cranes Grove, and Virtual Fire (Proto) Grove all have online accessible rituals.
