We will be focusing on "calf-raising" operations in California, like the Grimmius Cattle Co.Every single day, newborn calves are ripped from their mothers and shipped to facilities like Grimmius to be raised for the dairy and beef industries.A DxE investigation documented the rough handling of newborn calves and their intensive confinement in small, barren hutches for the first few months of their lives—when they are at their most vulnerable.We will show this evidence to the public and advocate for these animals through conversations.At this event, we will:* Show DxE’s investigation footage from Grimmius Cattle Co. on a TV screen* Hold peaceful one-on-one conversations with the public about the reality of the dairy industry* Distribute informational materials---WHEN: Saturday, April 25th at 9amWHERE: Midtown Farmers Market in Sacramento meeting at the southeast corner of 20th St and J St, Sacramento. Coordinates are 38°34'35.7"N 121°28'47.5"WWHO: Everyone is welcome who believes in justice for animals. However, please do not come if you have or recently had symptoms of or exposure to COVID-19.ACCESSIBILITY: This event will involve standing for extended periods or possibly holding a TV.---Direct Action Everywhere (DxE) is a grassroots network of animal rights activists. Through open rescue, demonstration, and disruption, we help build a world where every animal is safe, happy and free.DxE cultivates a welcoming and supportive community.
