Open Poetry Night: In Tribute to Frank LaPena
Poetry Night is returning to the Crocker, in honor of the late painter and poet Frank LaPena (Nomtipom Wintu). The beloved teacher and noted artist served as the co-curator of “When I Remember I See Red: American Indian Art and Activism in California,'' opening October 20. A selection of LaPena’s poetry will be read, along with spoken word performers and original poems shared by participants.
Open Poetry Night is FREE for members or with admission for nonmembers. Open mic sign-ups begin at 6:00 PM, prior to the program.
