In this first outing for our period instrument incarnation of the Bridgepoint Ensemble, director, Steven Devine is joined by two stellar singers: Mary Bevan appears regularly with leading conductors and orchestras around the world and was awarded an MBE in the Queen’s birthday honours list in 2019; Rowan Pierce has made a recent debut at Glyndebourne and has a role at the Royal Opera House as Papagena in 22/23.
Handel’s Aminta e Fillide is in essence a mini-opera, with a total cast of two, a fifty-minute delight that tells the story of the shepherd who falls for the elusive nymph, Fillide and is rejected until Cupid manages to change her mind.
