# Event Details

- **Event Name**: Wild Food & Medicine Plant Walk
- **Event Start and End Date**: Fri, 09 Oct, 2026 at 06:00 pm – Fri, 09 Oct, 2026 at 07:00 pm (-04:00)
- **Event Description**: Join herbalist Megan Brockelbank of Mother Hen’s Homestead for an evening exploring the wild food and medicine growing all around us at the beautiful Lilac Hedge Farm.

Many of the plants we walk past every day have long histories as food, medicine, and useful allies. During this guided plant walk, we’ll slow down and take a closer look at the landscape, learning how to recognize common wild plants while exploring their traditional uses and the many ways they have supported both people and wildlife for generations.

As we wander the fields and pathways of the farm, we’ll discuss edible plants, medicinal herbs, identification tips, ethical harvesting, and the hidden gifts growing right beneath our feet. You may never look at the “weeds” around you the same way again.

No previous herbal knowledge is necessary—just curiosity and comfortable walking shoes.

Please dress for the weather and uneven terrain. You may wish to bring water, a notebook, or any questions you’d like to ask along the way.

Make an evening of it! Arrive a little early or linger afterward to enjoy the farm, visit the store, grab a drink or a bite to eat, and take in the beautiful surroundings of Lilac Hedge Farm.

Space is limited and advance registration is required.
