Join us as Rutherfordton Fire & Rescue officially welcomes Ladder 26 into service!

 

This isn't just the arrival of a new fire truck, it's one of the largest advancements in emergency response capabilities in our department's history.

Our new 2025 Smeal 107-Foot Aerial Ladder replaces our 2012 78-foot ladder truck and provides:

? 107-foot aerial reach
? Advanced firefighting capabilities
? Expanded rescue operations
? Enhanced firefighter safety features
?️ Modern technical rescue equipment
? Greater protection for homes, businesses, schools, and industries throughout our region

 

One Investment. Two Communities Protected.

This project doesn't just benefit Rutherfordton.

As part of the State's investment in public safety, Rutherfordton's current 2012 aerial ladder will be donated to the Town of Spindale, providing their fire department with its first aerial apparatus.

Together, these two ladder trucks will dramatically strengthen emergency response throughout Rutherford County, expanding aerial firefighting and rescue capabilities for thousands of residents. When one department grows stronger, our entire county becomes safer.

 

Experience a Fire Service Tradition

The Push-In Ceremony dates back to the days of horse-drawn fire engines, when firefighters physically pushed their apparatus back into the station after returning from calls. Today, departments across America continue this tradition as a symbolic way of placing a new apparatus into service.
