- **Event Description**: Join us for this awesome point to point hike to start our series hiking the entire Passaic River!
The river is quite amazing and there's a lot to see. This might even be one of the best in the series because there are so many long sections of paved or improved surface trail right along the river.
We'll start in Lincoln Park area of Jersey City and walk across the north side of Truck Rt 1 and 9 bridge for a great view of the river to start off. We'll then head north and follow some of the new greenways along the river, which ties into the Morris Canal Greenway.
When we reach Newark proper, we'll continue north a bit more and switch to the east side of the river where there is a very contiguous walkway on that side. With only short bits of road walk, we will be able to be on trail or in grass along this stretch of the river.
If there is heavy snow cover, there will be an alternate route planned just to the north.
We'll finish up at the Memorial Park in Rutherford, which will be a good start point for part two.
