From an extraordinary crossing of the country on horseback, camel, yak and reindeer to the frozen forests of the northern taiga, these films tell stories of adventure, endurance, animals and the nomadic people who still call these landscapes home.

September 1st 
The Great Nomad Expedition follows an epic journey of more than 1,000 kilometres across Mongolia, travelling from the Gobi Desert to the northern mountains using the traditional riding animals of the regions they pass through—horses, camels, yaks and reindeer. Far more than an endurance challenge, the film captures what happens when a group of riders leave the modern world behind and travel through Mongolia alongside the nomadic families whose horses, animals, knowledge and hospitality make such a journey possible. It is a story of huge landscapes, hard days, extraordinary friendships and a way of life still intimately connected to the land.

September 8th
The Winter Taiga takes us even further north, into Mongolia's remote taiga in the depths of winter, where temperatures can fall below -40°C. The film follows Chloe into the world of the Dukha reindeer herders, one of the world's few remaining reindeer-herding cultures, whose lives are shaped by the animals and the changing seasons of the forest. Beautiful, intimate and at times brutally cold, The Winter Taiga is a glimpse into a remarkable relationship between people, animals and wilderness—and a way of life that very few outsiders will ever have the opportunity to experience.
