- **Event Description**: This year, The Heart of Rushville, the Rush County Chamber of Commerce, and the Rushville DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution) have come together to plan a special evening of remembrance in our community.

We will gather together and walk as a community in remembrance of those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001, the first responders who made the ultimate sacrifice, and the countless people whose lives were forever changed.

The evening will include a special opportunity to view the GWOT (Global War on Terrorism) Memorial Wall, which is now here in Rushville thanks to the efforts of the Rushville DAR. If you are unable to participate in the walk you are welcome to meet us at the wall, located at 1299 N. Sexton St. (Rushville Fair Grounds). 

🕯️ Memorial Luminaries

As part of the evening, memorial luminaries will be placed along the route. Each light represents a life remembered and serves as a reminder that the people and stories connected to September 11th should never be forgotten.

You are invited to participate by dedicating a luminary in memory or in honor of someone special. Whether you are remembering a loved one, a first responder, a member of our military, or simply want to honor the lives lost on September 11th, we invite you to add a light to the evening. 

Luminaries are available for purchase (free-will donation) at the Rush County Chamber of Commerce. All the proceeds will be donated to Helping Veterans and Families of Indianapolis. 

This is a community event, and everyone is welcome — individuals, families, veterans, first responders, civic organizations, businesses, churches, and anyone who would like to come together in remembrance.
