Recommended for kids age 6 and up. Kids that are too young to own or use a cell phone should be assisted by a parent. The iNaturalist phone app is a very special science-based application that can help identify all kinds of organisms that we can find around us, from insects to mushrooms to plants to slime molds! For some kids and grownups it has been a gateway into a new love of exploring the world around them. During this 1.5-hours session, iNaturalist experts Alison Northup and Robby Deans will teach you how to make observations and identify organisms using the iNaturalist app. They will share tips and help troubleshoot any problems. There will be plenty of time to practice making observations and IDs, and we'll undoubtedly make some cool discoveries along the way.Details:There will not be any bathrooms available during this event - please plan ahead.Wear long pants, closed-toed shoes, and bug repellentA cell phone is required. Download the iNaturalist app and create an account before arriving at the event.Bring bottled water, sunscreen and a hat as needed.
